Liz and I stayed up way too late last night . . . I really am amazed how she gets up every morning at 7:30 . . . I woke up at 8:30 when she left for work . . . made a cup of coffee . . . drank 2 sips then proceeded to go back to sleep on the couch for another 2 hours . . .
We rented the new extended version of The Two Towers . . . If you don't know, we are big Lord of the Rings dorks . . . this fact became even more apparent last evening as we took turns rattling of almost every line of dialogue . . .
The extended version is good . . . there are some scenes or parts of scenes I would have really liked to see in the theatrical release . . . the other scenes I was happy Peter Jackson decided to cut . . . I think I was more impressed with the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring . . . all the scenes from the 1st movie that were cut really added to the story and gave the viewer more information about what was happening and what would probably happen . . . My guess is that they omitted these scenes from The Fellowship and The Two Towers . . . of course, for pacing and time reasons . . . but also so that the final film would be more climatic . . .
the final film, The Return of the King will be in theaters on Dec 17th . . . only 26 days away . . . don't miss it . . . of course, Liz and I (being the dorks that we are) will be seeing it on Dec 16th as part of Trilogy Tuesday . . . a 12 movie marathon . . . where we will watch all 3 films back-to-back on the big screen . . .
