young soul rebels is the new east alley records
i made my first trip to young soul rebels this afternoon . . . i have to say i approve . . . if you're not familiar, it is located above C Pop off Woodward in the Majestic Complex . . . they don't have a huge selection but the prices are right . . . $7.99 for used CDs . . . $9.99 - $13.99 for new CDs . . . lots of new and used vinyl . . . some band equipment . . . maybe if we can get more people shopping there they will expand their selection . . . currently they only use approx. 1/3 of the floor space . . . i don't know if i can take another Indie record shop falling to the wrath of Best Buy and Target . . . today's purchases . . . Electric Six - "Fire" $7.99 used Beck - "Midnight Vultures" $7.99 used . . . bonus: the Midnight Vultures buy completes by Beck collection . . .
